Anaheim Dental Braces

added on: September 26, 2015

Are you wondering if your child needs braces? Is he having trouble chewing or biting? Do you notice your child breathing through his mouth? Can you see an over bite or under bite or facial imbalance? Are there teeth that are crooked or top teeth that don’t match up with the bottom teeth? Is your child continually grinding or clenching his teeth? These may all be signs that your child is in need of Anaheim dental braces to straighten his teeth.

There are three types of Anaheim dental braces that we generally use, depending on your child’s needs. If there are numerous problems to contend with, including crooked teeth, we will generally go with conventional metal braces that have stainless steel bands and brackets. If you have fewer issues and simply need to straighten misaligned teeth, we may choose to use plastic or porcelain brackets that we bond or cement to the teeth. And finally, there are clear aligners, such as Invisalign braces, that are not only worn by children, but are very popular with adults, as well.

Invisalign clear aligners are, obviously, the most popular with teens. For one thing, they can be worn without being noticed, which is very important to teens these days. They move your teeth at a steady pace so that you change aligners every few weeks. At the same time, the other huge advantage of the clear aligners is that you can eat anything you want when you wear them because you simply take them out when you eat. As long as you brush and floss after meals, you can eat whatever you want and simply put the aligners back in when you’ve done a thorough cleaning.
